Personality Disorders refer to a pattern of behaving that may otherwise by atypical within that personal cultural context and often causes dysfunction in relationships, leading to individual distress and impairment.  Personality Disorders are often treated using a method referred to as Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).  The goal is often to assist the client in understanding how their pattern of behavior may be contributing to the impairment and distress in their lives.
