Anger Management

It has been said that anger is a secondary emotion, essentially meaning that another emotion (sadness, disappointment, etc.) precede anger.  When we experience these emotions we do not feel empowered; therefore, we turn to anger as an emotion that assists us in feeling more empowered and able to deal with our primary emotion.  Anger is something everyone experiences at times in their lives.  However, anger can be problematic when it festers internally causing stress and anxiety.  External anger is when our anger is apparent to others and we shout, scream, throw things or physically harm someone.  This type of anger can create relationship problems as well as bring legal troubles.  Sara Czubak, with Harper Psychological, in East Lansing, MI, has years of experience treating individuals who struggle with processing or controlling their anger.  The environment at Harper Psychological is peaceful place to process difficult emotions.
