Nobody wants to be a victim of a crime; however, unfortunately many are victimized.  The effects of this victimization can range from physical, emotional or psychological.  Below is a list of common side effects that individuals who have been victim to a crime may experience: -Feelings of being in shock or experiencing emotional numbness -Unexpected spells of crying -Anger -Changes in sleep patterns (either sleeping too much or not enough). -Changes in eating patterns (over or under eating) -Eating disorders -Sensations of reliving the victimization -Feeling as though you see the perpetrator in strangers -Suspiciousness or paranoia -Feelings of not being safe -panic attacks -feelings…

Personality Disorders refer to a pattern of behaving that may otherwise by atypical within that personal cultural context and often causes dysfunction in relationships, leading to individual distress and impairment.  Personality Disorders are often treated using a method referred to as Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).  The goal is often to assist the client in understanding how their pattern of behavior may be contributing to the impairment and distress in their lives.

Anxiety disorders: Anxiety Disorders stem from fears, (real or imagined) and the emotional and physical response to those fears, commonly termed anxiety. Anxiety Disorders are a common reason individuals seek treatment and can typically be treated in individual therapy sessions that apply Cognitive Behavioral Therapies. If left untreated, often times these disorders can become more chronic and severe.
