OCD stands Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, a mental health condition that can be seen in adults (both men and women) as well as young children through teenage years.    OCD can present itself in several ways:

1) hoarding

2) trichotillomania (hair-pulling disorder)

3) excoriation (skin-picking)

4) obsessive thoughts / compulsive actions (experiencing both or each individually)

Individuals experiencing these issues may feel alone, embarrassed and shame.  They often hide try to hide their symptoms and behaviors from others; isolating themselves.  This does not have to be the case.  OCD is a anxiety disorder and can be identified and treated by a professional experienced with this disorder.
